Meet the Owner

No Quarter Aquatics was founded by Chris Syers, a lifelong aquarist whose passion for marine life grew from a hobby into a full-scale professional pursuit.

Before entering the aquarium industry full time, Chris spent 28 years in law enforcement, a career that shaped his approach to business through discipline, accountability, attention to detail, and a strong sense of responsibility. Those same principles now guide every aspect of No Quarter Aquatics—from livestock care and system design to customer relationships and long-term maintenance standards.

Chris also holds an Advanced SCUBA certification through PADI, giving him firsthand experience with marine environments beyond the glass. That real-world exposure to reefs and ocean ecosystems reinforces his commitment to ethical sourcing, sustainable practices, and proper husbandry in the aquarium trade.

For Chris, reefkeeping has always been about more than just aesthetics—it’s about precision, patience, and respect for the animals we keep. Years of hands-on experience taught him that successful aquariums aren’t built on shortcuts or trends, but on consistency, education, and doing things the right way.

What began as a personal escape evolved into a mission: to create a local fish store and service company hobbyists could genuinely trust. Chris built No Quarter Aquatics from the ground up with a focus on transparency, education, and long-term system success—whether helping a beginner start their first reef or maintaining complex residential and commercial displays.
